Worldwide Roaming

Make and receive calls when traveling in North America
and the rest of the World

CellularOne has completed extensive testing of our systems to allow you to roam in cities outside Bermuda, and we have established relationships with reputable carriers and service providers. Please be aware that roaming service is available primarily in major metropolitan areas and we do not have control over how far their coverage extends.

Before you travel

  1. Please contact us before you travel so that we can make sure that you have the right handset for the specific part of the world that you will be visiting. Call Customer Care on 700 7000 (or 611 from your cell phone) to find out if we have roaming agreements in the country you are travelling to.
  2. Make sure your cellular phone is updated with the latest roaming information before travelling to North America. Dial *228 and follow the instructions to automatically update your phone with our latest roaming cities.

Retrieving Voicemail while Roaming

After turning your phone ON:

  1. Dial 1 441 and your cell number
  2. Press the SEND or TALK or YES button
  3. Press * to interrupt your personal greeting
  4. Enter your password
  5. Press 1 to play your messages or 7 to delete (Roaming and long distance charges will apply). To enter the “+” symbol on your phone, press and hold the ‘0' key. For Nokia, press and hold the * key to enter the “+” symbol.

Please note that a credit card may be required to make calls
in some areas where roaming may not be available.

Troubleshooting

If you are experiencing difficulties while roaming on another carrier's network, please follow these steps:

  1. Turn the phone OFF and then back ON. This will allow the phone to re-register on the overseas network.
  2. Some areas in the world do not have message waiting indicator, so please check your voice mail.
  3. For North America only Dial 611 or *611. This will put you in touch with the cellular carrier's Customer Care Department.
  4. To reach Customer Care in Bermuda, please call (from a different phone) 1 (441) 700 - 7600 from North America or + 011 (441) 700 7600 from the rest of the World from 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 5pm Saturdays (Atlantic Standard Time).
